What is your #1 goal in life?

Your answer to that question will reveal your dominant life value. Everyone has one. It’s what we unconsciously base our decisions on. God tells us that our dominant life value is to be love. In fact, Jesus once said that of all the commands in the Bible only two are most important: Love God with all your heart. Love your neighbor as yourself. On Sunday, September 12, our church family will begin a six-week focus on those two commands in a study of 1 Corinthians 13. We will also have the opportunity to gather together for 40 Days of Love in small groups during the week and in Sunday School on weekends. With conflicts, economic uncertainty, stress, miscommunication, division and political/social polarization, it’s obvious we all need some lessons in building healthy relationships within our family, church family and community. 40 Days of Love is all about that! Please consider joining a small group at Immanuel to go through 40 Days of Love together. Most adventures are better enjoyed in the company of close friends. Please commit to worship God with us at Immanuel for six weeks beginning September 12. I know that this study of what the Bible says about love will bring a re-formation of love to our relationships. We will offer uplifting music as well.

A “40 Days of Love” DVD and Study Guide is available to small group leaders. I have previewed and tweaked the material. I have prepared a study of God’s Amazing Love and our reaction to such love. We were made for relationships. The more we learn of God’s Amazing Love, the more we can genuinely love God and love people.

A training day is planned for Saturday, August 28 from 10 am to 1 pm. We will train Small Group Leaders and Sunday School/After School Teachers. Free lunch!
